Memorial to the "Wool Barons"

This unique memorial to Lockhart District Pioneers is the entrance to showgrounds.

Constructed of concrete 'Wool Bales', they acknowledge the wealth that wool provided, with wagon wheels representing the mode of travel of the early settlers, many of whom came overland from South Australia

The original properties settled are named on the wool bales.
