Walla Walla

Another town settled by the Lutheran trekkers who arrived here in January 1869
travelling in 14 wagons & 2 spring carts from Ebenezer in South Australia, to take up land being allocated by the NSW government

The first Lutheran church was built in 1872
& this one was built in 1924, it is the largest Lutheran church in NSW & seats 600 people

We were lucky enough to start chatting to a local Margaret, who was the last baby to be born in the local hospital.  Margaret gave us a guided to tour of all the old buildings through the
"eyes of a 6 year old child". Great story

Faithfully restored replica of one of the German wagons that made the "Trek"
Original German wagons were painted with a blue body & red wheels.
This colour combination was first used in early Lutheran churches
