We decided to cook some snags on the barbie on Wednesday evening for dinner. Out of nowhere 5 kookaburra's arrived on the scene. Getting very brazen they sat right on the posts about a metre away from Bob. No manner of shooing would make them go away. They were waiting to pounce, one kooka made his first attempt while the snags were big & plump & hot. He took it off barbie but dropped it.
They kept waiting for the right moment to pounce again & after Bob had butterflied the snags, they swooped again, right under his left elbow & this time very successful coming in from the back & BINGO they had a strike.
All 5 flew off into the trees & cackled out loud
Not sure if the winner shared it with his mates!!!!
They've definitely done it before, working in a pack, keeping you distracted
Bush turkey also hanging around to see if there were any tit bits!!!
+ couple ducks !!! whole neighbourhood looking for a feed!!!
