Travelled through Omeo & Dinner Plains & are now driving on the Great Alpine road, which goes from Wangaratta to the coast @ Bairnsdale
The Great Alpine road, through Mt Hotham is the highest road in OZ
that is sealed & open all year round
Mt Hotham is 1820 M
The road from Harrietville to Mt Hotham is closed each day till 4.30pm.
They have a lot of work to do before the ski season starts
A fire raged through here in January this year & they are clearing the trees that could be a hazard of falling on the road.
We were blown away by how far the fire went through the area.
It is rather eerie looking at all these dead trees, but also beautiful in strange sort of way
